CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK

BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

Is the activity of business that looks through people (such as institutional directors, managers, producers, consultants and experts) to improve productivity and overall competitiveness of companies or businesses.

Optimal management is not just making things look better; the most important thing is to make good things better and in this sense is necessary to identify the factors that influence the success or rather a result of management.

Entering the new century and the changing landscape of the market, coupled with the emergence and development of information and communication technologies has meant that operators have to deal with an increasingly complex environment.

Corporate governance is a term that encompasses a set of techniques that apply to the administration of a company and depending on the size of the company, will determine the difficulty of managing the employer or producer. The fundamental objective of business management is to improve the productivity, sustainability and competitiveness, ensuring viability in the long term.

Some of the most representative techniques of management are:

Strategic Analysis: diagnosing the stage, identify the political, economic and social national and international more likely, analyze corporate actors external to the company.

Organizational Management or Administrative Process: planning for the anticipation of future task of the company and setting the strategy and goals or objectives to be met by the company, to organize, determine the functions and structure necessary to achieve the goal by establishing the authority and assigned.

BUSINESS LOGISTICS

The logistics business is all movement and storage to facilitate the flow of products from the point of purchase of materials to the point of consumption, and information flows are implemented, in order to give consumers the level of adequate service at reasonable cost.

Logistics is that part of the management of the supply chain that plans, implements and controls the flow-back and forth and the effective and efficient storage of goods, services and related information from point of origin to point of consumption with in order to meet consumer requirements

Business logistics could be roughly defined as:

The planning, organization and control of all activities related to the procurement, transport and storage of materials and products, from procurement to consumption, through the organization and as an integrated system. The objective pursued is to meet the needs and demand requirements in the most effective and the least possible cost, including information flows involved.

You can find many other definitions in this regard, and some would almost certainly bring them into their particular context, but the important thing is not just describe it, frame it and adopt it to the four winds, the most important thing is being consistent with its definition and that it apply and be known by every member who performs some work around these activities. It is important to describe the logistics activities and identify those which are fundamental and which are supportive to the management.

ENTERPRENEURSHIP

This is defined as an individual initiative to develop a business project or a particular idea that generates income, which is, creating a micro-enterprise. Asking some professionals, they define it as means making human actions, to build something creative value from practically nothing. It requires a vision and passion and commitment to guide others in the pursuit of that vision. It also requires the willingness to take calculated risks. The idea of getting a job is not as safe as safe or motivating, so some people have decided to opt for another alternative, in which we find

Business Entrepreneurship, as these people has been unemployed, have had to seek a new outlet. The business venture had been downplayed, but now is seen as a possibility to achieve progress in the nations under development. Among the advantages of the entrepreneurship, we find in the new business world: the possibility that the individual to manage their own time and be your own boss, make independent decisions, rising incomes, besides generating employment.

In recent years, small businesses have had tremendous growth, bringing an increase in employment. Due to the advantages of microenterprise development of a nation, have created many governmental and nongovernmental entities around the world to offer support to such projects.

BUSINESS LEADERSHIP

Leadership is a fundamental policy and especially organizations in the field of human resource management because it will serve to influence the behavior of company employees. It is not just to manage these behaviors, but that leadership must go further, you should try to integrate the employees in the business plan.

A leadership process of encouraging and helping others to pursue certain objectives, including organizational objectives.

Looking for leadership must balance individual needs and organizational needs. In short, aims to integrate human resources in the business plan.

Essential components of entrepreneurial leadership

• Influence: the ability of certain people to manage, control, to direct the will of others.

• differential Influence: there are people who influence but are not leaders. To be a leader must have more than others: charisma, personality, expertise. (That influence and are considered more than others)

• Individual-group: a leader with respect to another, with respect to other individuals, stands out against a group of individuals.

• Power: it gives the place it occupies the position. However, not all those who have power in the company are leaders.

• Objective: Get to transmit to the other objectives to follow and also transmit a management style.

• Values

There are formal leaders: in the position they occupy, hierarchical position
And informal leaders, outside of the post, not by hierarchical position

Companies must realize how formal and what leaders are informal.

EMPLOYERS

1. CREPES & WAFFLES

Eduardo Macias and his wife Beatriz Fernández started their business with 75,000 dollars and there was no time, as recommended by many, to make business plans. The boldness and passion to undertake a business project took years of persistent struggle and now has a name that is highly valued in Colombia: Crepes & Waffle. The story began in the early 80s and had much to do Manuelita Duran, the lady who at the time of the 'hazing' Beatrice told her creppes were not good and I found the recipe today is a chain with open more than 54 points: 42 in Colombia, three in Mexico, two in Spain, 3 in Panama, in March in Ecuador and one in Venezuela. Soon, Peruvians will also have a restaurant.

The philosophy and key to the success of these entrepreneurs were told by Eduardo Macias at the first forum of the series of "Business Lessons" organized PORTFOLIO to subscribers last Friday at the Gun Club in Bogota. Beatriz Fernandez, in a message sent to the audience, noted that the company is not only because it belongs to our entire Colombia. Macias said in growth strategies Crepes & Waffle, a company he called a culinary challenge, a human challenge and a financial challenge.

The savings and efficiency, without harming the employees, the high-volume purchases and adequate logistical management are some of the issues that make their restaurants successful. The differentiation, value added, the different niches and passion are words that are in the business life of Eduardo Macias and Beatriz Fernández. Besides these factors, Macias spent much of his statement to say that the most important for your points sales work and customers are satisfied are more than 2,000 employees. The human qualities, capacity of initiative, feminine qualities are the aspects you are looking for the most senior positions. The style of organization, says the entrepreneur, is designed for everyone to take risks, make decisions and take responsibility, even if he is wrong.

Don 'Lalo', as they call their collaborators, highlighted what has long recognized: the Crepes & Waffle concern for providing employment opportunities to single mothers or displaced, in some cases, have no option elsewhere. Housing, prepaid medical training and even their children are benefits encouraged to engage and make a dream of two common dream.

2. FABIO ROJAS. LA CAMPIÑA (VILLA GLORIA)

His initiative was born from a very small; its foundations are always based on the purchase and sale. Its resources were not very good because his family lacked the money necessary to satisfy all your needs. His dream was always to have a set of apartments, with swimming pool, children's play area etc., which would make a good joint.

When he was 19, his grandmother died. Leaving some property to his nephews, among them was Fabio. One of his properties was the house in the countryside village called glory in the name of Fabio, at the time of the hearing that his grandmother had left the house in her name. I feel that it was time to produce what he had always dreamed of. So I decided to start renting this countryside, the money that was collected was not very favorable but this helped Fabio to start taking courses in business administration, this race had always drawn attention to Fabio and thought this was an opportunity more favorable start giving their dreams. After 24 years Fabio finished his course and this was the primary basis to start his business life. He began to work and fight every time he had the opportunity to grow mentally and emotionally, after three years at work he could get the money to create what we had planned.

From this moment the life of Fabio went from being something simple and everyday to welcome the business world. Such was his performance that built today and what he had dreamed and that dream became a reality. A set of apartments in the countryside in Villavicencio called Villa Gloria is the foundation of its business growth and beginning the construction of a single thing which gave half of their income to build a whole set. The message that leaves Fabio is that from the moment we began to form as a person and we feel we are in this world for that reason, do not stop struggling and losing hope because in the minimum time may come a wave of opportunities.

3. SERVIENTREGA

Servientrega was born thanks to the vision of its founders, Jesus and Luz Mary Guerrero Hernández, two natives of the village peasants mind at Jenesano (Boyacá), who worked in the field of heavy cargo. They identified needs in the market, noting that envelopes and small packages in warehouses remained several days, until the company managed to accumulate enough charge to be sent to their respective destinations.

Investigating these needs determined that the safe and timely shipments were the features most requested by customers. After a few months they decided to confront the challenge of doing business in Colombia.

On November 29, 1982, Servientrega as an incorporation was created. It began operations between the cities of Bogota, Cali and Buenaventura, mobilizing three shipments with an initial capital of $ 17,500.

As we grew the business opportunities, professionalism and unity of the Guerrero brothers, sons of Rosa Helena Concepción Guerrero and Hernandez were joining the organization. Today, ten of the eleven leadership positions nationally and internationally, contributing to the consolidation of Servientrega.

Servientrega has 15 years in the last five years of crisis and great change for the country, it is not easy to record the origin, development and consolidation of large-scale enterprises. Servientrega is one case that may mark the story as an example of perseverance, faith and trust in our people in Colombia.

Analyzing factors for the rise, we find that this company developed its own model S of management, product management models analysis of Eastern, American, European and adapting to the needs of Latin American culture and atmosphere, creating with them leadership in management, marketing and logistics, worth emulating.

4. ARTURO CALLE

In 1965 in a small place with no more than 8 meters in the area of San Victorino in the city of Bogota, began what was then the signature Arturo Calle.

Today 45 years later, with the support of all those who work with us, has created a unique business model in the middle of the fashion industry and the business environment in the country. Arturo Calle has two distribution centers at the regional level in the city of Cali, Medellin and two national distribution centers in the city of Bogota and Dosquebradas, which each have their own transport fleet, responsible for distributing the product permanently different outlets in the country.

Arturo Calle has become a symbol of achievement model, being always a company that has been concerned with human talent, which has continuously provided better working conditions and for optimal physical performance, taking into account their needs and expectations.

5. MARTHA OLAYA (cardboard and wood)

In the beginning came without any thought that their future would be a head of a large company and even more of cardboard, between his dreams becoming a doctor was more relevant. But a word well named for it is that our destiny can change the sky to earth.

Thus it was that one day you least expect Wilmer Olaya his father took home a number of cardboard boxes had taken from his office, the remote Martha to come and all that cardboard voting was a "nuisance" in that time. Thus it was that Martha ignored the orders of his father and went to get the whole board, but at this moment one of her neighbors told Martha that if she wore that board to a place where you bought it could make a little money aria and environmental damage. Martha immediately went to sell this amount of cardboard had in their hands, so it was that Martha received the money per carton sold. From this day on Martha began to grow a concern for how it would be if she left to receive the money and it gives more money to people they carried.

From the moment the doors open to a world of Martha and entrepreneurs, as previously stated in his dreams was to be a doctor, but today is part of a major timber company that exports so many parts of the country and which will soon be export to various parts of the world. I is a story that reveals what fate has in store for us and in a least expected moment opens the doors to get in it.
